SAXOPHONE

The saxophone lessons are only offered to slightly older children in Years 7-8. This is primarily due to the size of the saxophone. If younger children wish to learn the saxophone we encourage them to start in the pre-instrumental, recorder or clarinet classes before moving on to saxophone. This will assist them considerably when beginning the saxophone. Lessons are taught in groups of 4-6 students. All saxophone pupils are encouraged to be in one of the bands at the Papakura Music School.

Saxophones are available for hire from the music school. Please refer to our instrument hire page for further information.

Students need to purchase their own book, music stand and reeds. All books required are available for purchase from the music school.
